Let’s hear it for the Groom! Uh oh, did I just unseat the bride from the matrimonial throne? No, 0f course not. Without a doubt the bride is, and will continue to be, the center of attention when it comes to weddings. That being said, I think it is high time to give some love to the groom. All too often, friends and family alike do not recognize and appreciate the challenging yet fulfilling commitment made by the groom when it comes to weddings. So…let’s take a walk down an unfamiliar path and look at some of the wedding experience from the grooms perspective. The journey begins with the decision to make a lifelong commitment and enter into a legal union with his loving partner. While it may not be obvious, this can be a very emotional time. Just like all major life decisions, there may be fear and uncertainty. Once the fears are dispelled, and the decision reached to offer a proposal to the irresistible bride to be, the groom still has other factors to consider. Do I need to get the blessing of the bride’s parents? How do I select the perfect ring? How, where and when will I propose? Will she say Yes? While these are only a few considerations prior to an actual proposal, each one takes on a significant level of importance for loving men who want the proposal of marriage to be perfect for their partners. Once these questions have been answered and the planning for the proposal is complete, it’s time to pop the question.
A beautiful spring afternoon and a gorgeous high school senior. What a great combination! We had a great time photographing Caroline for her Senior Portrait Session this past Friday. The first stop on our tour of the city started out in the New Orleans Arts District. So much culture and history made this a perfect spot to get the creative juices flowing. It didn’t take long to realize how easy this young lady was to work with. She was relaxed, yet confident and focused. Her ability to create a variety of facial expressions from intense and seductive, to relaxed and carefree, was impressive. A simple word or two and she would deliver striking poses like a pro. With so many interesting nooks and crannies, it was easy to find excellent backdrops to compliment her outfits and accentuate her beauty. After wrapping up in the area formerly known as the Warehouse District, we made a brief stop in the French Quarter for a few additional images. Finally, we headed to City Park to finish out the session. We arrived just as the sun dropped low in the sky, casting wonderful light on the moss strewn Oak Trees in the park. It was the prefect place to round out a fun filled afternoon of photography. Caroline will soon be graduating from Mount Carmel and then it’s off to the University of Alabama. We offer our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for continued success to this amazing young lady.
As wedding photographers covering all of Southeast Louisiana, sharing in the joys of loving couples as they commit their lives to one another is a privilege that we never take for granted. This past Saturday, we left New Orleans for Houma to photograph the wedding of Jamie and Sandie. This amazing couple contacted us several months ago for a consultation. After spending a few moments chatting with them, it was obvious that this couple was truly in love and committed to a happy and healthy relationship. We were thrilled when they chose us to capture the images that they will reflect upon for years to come. When I sat down to write about this wedding, three words instantly came to mind…Joy Filled Moments. These three powerful words are a fitting description for their big day. No detail was left to chance and the wedding venue was decorated artfully with so many personal touches. Observing the union of not just a happy couple but of two families joining as one is a always a wonderful experience. As they exchanged their vows, one look around the room made it clear that delight was shared by all in attendance, including their wonderful children. Our favorite moments during the evening were when we were able to steal the newly married couple away for a few minutes for some couples portraits. The sun was low in the sky and provided just the right amount of light to accentuate the passion shared by this great couple. Thanks to Jamie and Sandie for choosing Fradella Photography and best wishes for a bright and prosperous future. It is our pleasure to share just a few of the happy couples’ “Moments that Matter.”

Chris and Morgan at the Bayou Barn.
With a twinkle in their eyes and electricity in the air, Chris and Morgan exchanged their vows at the Bayou Barn this past weekend. This was our first visit to the Bayou Barn and we absolutely loved the rustic setting. The staff was outstanding. All the small details made this one of the most interesting venues we have had the good fortune to visit. The cake prepared by Kat’s Cakes was exquisite and the upside down display was just amazing to behold. The entire bridal party was lively and energetic and Morgan was an absolutely glowing bride. One of our favorite moment was when Chris and Morgan’s adorable daughter was escorted along a wooden path with her white chariot (ok embellished a bit there but it was really a cute buggy), wielding a sign reading “Daddy Here Comes Mommy.” Moments later, the beautiful bride and her gushing mother strolled down the wood planked pathway to meet Chris. The look on Chris’s face as Morgan walked down the aisle was priceless. After a few pictures with the Bridal Party, food fun and dance followed. It was a great evening! Thanks to Chris and Morgan for allowing us the opportunity to capture their “moments that matter.”

We recently had the privilege of working with Mark Eric, a well-known and respected photographer, who works primarily in central and southeast Louisiana. He graciously allowed us to participate, as photographers, in a scheduled engagement session. The session featured Torey Ray and sing-songwriter and actress Anna Margaret. The session was held at Melady Plantation, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Everything was perfect. Not only was the location and weather amazing, but Mark was able to borrow an antique vehicle to be featured in the shoot. Torey and Anna were absolutely glowing. They meshed perfectly and it was obvious that love was in the air. It was a fantastic experience. Not only were we able to capture some great images of Torey and Anna, but it was inspiring watching Mark and his wife, Heather, work together seamlessly. We cannot express our gratitude enough for Mark, Torey and Anna for giving us the opportunity to capture some of their “moments that matter.”
