Senior Portrait Session – Bayou Sauvage. As an avid outdoorsman, we decided on a wandering wooden pathway in Bayou Sauvage for Dougie’s senior pictures. Like many young men, he was initially a reluctant participant for his senior portrait session. It didn’t take long before we had him laughing and relaxed and then he turned on the charm. One of his passions is hunting and he brought along a shotgun. Since guns and wildlife refuge’s don’t mix well, we moved on to a different location for a few more images. We figured it was best to let the game wardens and sheriff’s’ deputies focus their efforts elsewhere. I must admit, posing him with graduation garb and a shotgun made for some interesting images. Best wishes to Dougie for a future filled with success and joy.
Allison Shines in the Big Easy – Senior Portraits
While we always love spending time working and playing in New Orleans, Saturday’s senior portrait session had special meaning for Sylvia and I. Our youngest daughter is nearing graduation and it was time for her senior portraits. She chose the French Quarter and City Park as the shoot locations. In typical Allison style, we didn’t know where we were going until the night before. That being said, it was a great choice. The weather was fantastic and of course when the camera was raised, she turned on her charm. City streets, stately oaks, calm ponds, and Allison…the results, of course, were stunning. How could they not be with that glowing smile and those intense eyes. We had so much fun with this shoot. For a change, we weren’t just capturing “moments that matter”, we were living them too! Graduation is around the corner, and another right of passage will come and go. For Allison, it’s onward and upward with a future filled with hopes and dreams. For us, we have a few more memories of joy filled moments as we watch our baby girl blossom into a fine young woman.
We had a great time participating in the The Royal Palm Bridal Show on Sunday. This lively event was sponsored by Kat’s Cakes who featured an amazing display of artistically decorated cakes. In addition to getting to meet with numerous wedding vendors, brides-to-be enjoyed a fashion show of dresses and tuxedos provided by The Pink Veil. Thanks to the Royal Palm and Kat’s Cakes for coordinating and hosting such a great and successful event. Enjoy the images by clicking below.
Hannah Dazzles at Audobon
We recently had the privilege of spending a wonderful afternoon with Hannah. When she told us she wanted to take her senior portraits at the Audubon Zoo, we were thrilled. What an inspiring setting for senior portraits. From the moment she arrived, she was absolutely glowing. We had a blast laughing and strolling through the zoo while finding just the right locations to accent her outfits. Her energy and beauty was unmistakable and are evident in the images that we captured. Best wishes to Hannah, and congratulations on being a member of the Fisher High School Graduating Class of 2017. Chris and Cate, along with numerous friends and family, made the journey from California to New Orleans to exchange their vows on New Years Eve. They selected Oak Alley, with it’s majestic Oaks and beautifully landscaped grounds, as their wedding venue. Weather forecasts were worrisome, but that didn’t hamper their moods or enthusiasm one bit. Smiles and laughter filled the afternoon and mother nature cooperated just enough to allow the wedding to proceed as planned. As always, Oak Alley staff managed the event expertly and everything flowed perfectly. Join us in wishing them them joy, happiness, laughter and love in 2017. Here are a few of their “moments that matter.”
Fun with the Allemand Family
Sylvia and I had a great time working with the Allemand Family in Houma, Louisiana. The day was perfect with a cool breeze blowing on a brisk sunny morning. Brandon and Meghan and all three of their beautiful children were fun and energetic. Here are just a few a few of their “moments that matter.”
Chris and Morgan at the Bayou Barn.
With a twinkle in their eyes and electricity in the air, Chris and Morgan exchanged their vows at the Bayou Barn this past weekend. This was our first visit to the Bayou Barn and we absolutely loved the rustic setting. The staff was outstanding. All the small details made this one of the most interesting venues we have had the good fortune to visit. The cake prepared by Kat’s Cakes was exquisite and the upside down display was just amazing to behold. The entire bridal party was lively and energetic and Morgan was an absolutely glowing bride. One of our favorite moment was when Chris and Morgan’s adorable daughter was escorted along a wooden path with her white chariot (ok embellished a bit there but it was really a cute buggy), wielding a sign reading “Daddy Here Comes Mommy.” Moments later, the beautiful bride and her gushing mother strolled down the wood planked pathway to meet Chris. The look on Chris’s face as Morgan walked down the aisle was priceless. After a few pictures with the Bridal Party, food fun and dance followed. It was a great evening! Thanks to Chris and Morgan for allowing us the opportunity to capture their “moments that matter.”
