Wish to Fish 2017 Lake Catherine Island Marina

Wish to Fish 2017 Lake Catherine Island Marina

Wish to Fish Louisiana is a non profit organization dedicated to providing the youth of Louisiana with the opportunity to explore and earn an appreciation of the natural beauty that exists in South Louisiana; specifically, areas that are only accessible on the lakes and waterways of our state. Wish to Fish recently held an event at the Lake Catherine Island Marina. The event benefited the children of Veterans and Active Members of the United States Armed Services. We consider ourselves fortunate to have had the opportunity to join the numerous willing volunteers who contributed their time and efforts to making this an unforgettable experience for the children in attendance. Capturing images as professional fishing guides created a memorable fishing experience for these deserving youths was a truly rewarding experience. The smiles, laughter and utter delight evident on the faces of these youngsters as they reeled in redfish, speckled trout, flounder, drum and Bass, make it clear that the event was a resounding success. Thanks to the efforts of the Wish to Fish Staff, volunteers, and professional fishing guides, this was an experience that these deserving youth will never forget.

Madison – Commemorating the LSU Experience

Madison – Commemorating the LSU Experience

As New Orleans Wedding and Senior Portrait Photographers, we are always are always thrilled when we get requests for specialty photo shoots. Event sessions, family sessions, even real estate sessions, all add variety to our standard photography services. Madison, a senior at Louisiana State University, recently contacted us about  a brief mini session to take a few portraits to commemorate her LSU experience and for use in post graduate applications. As LSU Alumni, both Sylvia and I jumped at the opportunity to visit our alma mater. Although our time with Madison was brief, we had a blast working with this this beautiful young lady. Her stunning blue-green eyes, wonderful complexion, energy and enthusiasm, and a brisk fall morning in Baton Rouge, were the perfect ingredients for some wonderful portraits. Please join us in congratulating Madison on her accomplishments at LSU, and wishing her all the best in her continuing educational journeys.

Sleeklens – Photo Editing Made Easy

Working as a professional wedding and portrait photographer in Southeast Louisiana is such a rewarding experience. Through the years, I have learned many valuable lessons in my development as a photographer. One of the most important lessons being that creativity is essential to achieving truly memorable images. Stunning images require the perfect balance of chemistry between the photographer and subject, proper posing, balanced lighting, and finally professional editing. For photographers, while each of these ingredients are essential for the creation of captivating images, editing can be one of the most time consuming and labor intensive. In my never ending search for new and innovative ways to increase workflow efficiency, I recently discovered a gem, Sleeklens. Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom are two of the most common software applications utilized by professional photographers. In this photographers opinion, they are the best options for post processing available on the market. While I rely heavily on both applications in my workflow, they can sometimes require a significant investment of time and effort to achieve the desired results. I recently discovered an innovative company that has improved the efficiency of my workflow and also been a source of educational as well. Sleeklens, based out of Denmark, offers a comprehensive menu of photography related resources and products for professional and amateur photographers alike.

Let’s Hear it for the Groom

Let’s hear it for the Groom! Uh oh, did I just unseat the bride from the matrimonial throne? No, 0f course not. Without a doubt the bride is, and will continue to be, the center of attention when it comes to weddings. That being said, I think it is high time to give some love to the groom. All too often, friends and family alike do not recognize and appreciate the challenging yet fulfilling commitment made by the groom when it comes to weddings. So…let’s take a walk down an unfamiliar path and look at some of the wedding experience from the grooms perspective. The journey begins with the decision to make a lifelong commitment and enter into a legal union with his loving partner. While it may not be obvious, this can be a very emotional time. Just like all major life decisions, there may be fear and uncertainty. Once the fears are dispelled, and the decision reached to offer a proposal to the irresistible bride to be, the groom still has other factors to consider. Do I need to get the blessing of the bride’s parents? How do I select the perfect ring? How, where and when will I propose? Will she say Yes? While these are only a few considerations prior to an actual proposal, each one takes on a significant level of importance for loving men who want the proposal of marriage to be perfect for their partners. Once these questions have been answered and the planning for the proposal is complete, it’s time to pop the question.

Vacation Fun with the Morse, Rooney and Lee Families

Vacation Fun with the Morse, Rooney and Lee Families. Working vacations do not get any better than this! We were privileged to have enjoyed seven fun filled days sailing on the Carnival Dream out of the port of New Orleans taking family and couples portraits. From the moment we arrived on the cruise ship, we knew that we were in store for exciting times with this great group. After navigating through some rough seas, compliments of tropical storm Cindy, it was smooth sailing with sun filled skies and warm breezes for the remainder of the trip. With three amazing ports of call, Roatan, Belize and Cozumel, there were plenty of activities to choose from. From scuba diving and snorkeling to carefree relaxation on the sandy white beaches, fun was had by all. We had a wonderful time, made new friends, and enjoyed capturing many of the families’ moments that matter.  Here are a just a few of our favorite images from the trip.
